WELCOME TO THE WALL OF SHAME.

This page is not intended to hurt anyones feelings and job locations, contractors involved, and workers involved are not to be named. It is only intended to be a learning tool and perhaps give you a giggle or two. We welcome others wall of shame participants, just email the censored pic or we will censor out any information that could be considered insulting to involved parties.

NAILED IT!

Top left, how many nails does it take to make flexible (CSST) gas piping a dangerous bomb? Well in this case one framing nail, two roofing nails and two wood screws pierced this unarmored gas pipe. All in 3 feet of piping. A four foot by 16 inch cut had to be made in finished and painted sheetrock and iron piping replaced the flexible pipe in the damaged area. This is why we air test systems before gas is connected to buildings. It failed

EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK.

Top center, a radiant system that has never worked properly, it couldnt. If you look close at the auto fill it is on the right side of the back flow preventer. The auto fill is thinking its got the right pressure in the system due to the back flow preventer not letting it pick up on the pressure that is actually in the system. It dried out the system, ruining the 40%oversized boiler system. Further views show clearances on the venting to be non existent due to combustables and spray foam. Some of the worst soldering I have ever seen. The story goes on but we removed all of this and replaced the entire system.

PRESSURE TEST?

Top right, this refrigerant system would have worked for years had it been installed properly in the first place. A simple pressure test with 300psi nitrogen would have revealed a leak in the joints/weld and could have been fixed. Instead the system was "vacuumed out" which is impossible with a leak and the refrigerant was released into the lines and system started up. Sometime later the system of course stopped working due to low pressure cut off. This infraction does not constitute "De minimus losses" in any EPA definition is is considered illegal.
